Re: Comment thread for abortion debate
This could be an interesting debate. Vulturesrow is definately a good candidate for the pro-life position, since he can articulate political and moral reasoning without religion.

What kind of debate is it?

Expect a argument heavy on the consequential side. |

You may post your thoughts on abortion and the debate between Shakezula and Vulturesrow here. [/ QUOTE ] On VR's first post. I think the issue that the por-life side must address is what happens to society and specifically to poor women if abortion is made illegal. Secondly, Ithe pro-choise side should address the question that there position makes it easy to get an abortion for purposes such as "after the fact, contraception" and why this on demand contraception is acceptable. If the thread becomes enmeshed in discussion of whn life begins it becomes way to pedantic, IMO, obfuscating the practical realities of women who will resort to illegal and dangerous methods or the issue that pro-choice encourages an approach that makes abortion a recreational activity. |

[/ QUOTE ] So you are saying: suppose you are the president and you wanted to 'solve this problem'. This means that you first have to decide if it is a problem. And given that you're the president, what are you going to base that on? |
