Does extra monitor to laptop take up resources?
I have a 2 yr old laptop, and as I've been increasing number of tables, I now find overlapping to be too much.
I plan to buy a big LCD monitor and hook it up to my laptop, and only use the big LCD monitor. I'm wondering if doing this will take up computer resources and perhaps slow things down. I could buy a new desktop, but only want to buy if it's totally necessary.. my current laptop is fine with me right now. Here is the laptop spec: Compaq Presario V2210CA, Pentium M 1.5GHz, 512MB ram, Intel integrated 82852/82855 GM/GME graphics. Thanks |

Re: Does extra monitor to laptop take up resources?
I'm not sure if that chipset is going to drive a large monitor. It may in fact slow things down because you are sharing system memory for video memory. You will want to either put more ram in the machine or look into getting one of those external video card thingies for laptops.
