Default crockpot\'s mlb picks 5/1-5/6 (YTD 71-65, +65.69 units)

well, it appears hotels in kyoto have internet for a mere 1050 yen/24 hours. as mad magazine would say, cheap!

i think my accounting in the post title is correct for ML/RL, but who the hell knows. as for totals, i'm not even going to attempt to dig through my posts and calculate everything. having to scramble to place bets means i used totally inconsistent unit sizes, so my personal records are way off from the public record. i'm up about two units on totals, so the posted record is probably similar.

among the many things i brainstormed while checking out the pagodas today: wouldn't be interesting to go back and use the books' opening money lines and totals to calculate their estimates for teams' RS and RA, then do the same for my estimated game lines and see who's more accurate? this would probably suffer from all sorts of sample size issues right now, but it might help sift through the variance of individual game results. (in other words, if i'm winning all the close ones and losing the blowouts, i'm not really doing that great.)

in that vein, my expected gain from april was around 40 units, so i got a bunch of breaks. i'm surprised this figure is that high, but i'm also surprised at how many bad lines keep popping up. i may have to adjust my year-end goal to 150 units or so.

okay, that got long-winded. 5/1 picks up soon.

Im going to follow your picks religously from now till the end of the season at $20 units. I'll probably up my units if you keep this streak up. Thanks again.

im looking to experiment with crockpot's picks...it seems people have had good results...im a poker player and really sportsbet for fun...i have a few questions of the picks...how many people bet all the picks vs pick the ones they like? Is there any kind of correlation factors that make it better to take all the picks? Also, i can only bet on bodog...thats where i keep my money for poker...Now bodog lines are never as favorable as what is posted, should i be dropping the lines that are not close to what crockpot posts? For instance today, SD runline is +140 on bodog, not +155 -- is there a point where his picks become unprofitable? Thanks guys...

Why dont you make a deposit at pinnacle or 5 dimes? They have better lines. You also have to get your picks in as soon as Crackpot posts em to get the best lines.

Of course there is a point where his picks become unprofitable.

This isn't always true. I think several of his picks remained fairly stagnant and several moved on him very hard. But probably 80% just get worse throughout the day.

Also, none of his prices come from Pinny. And most are dead as soon as he bets them. This is his "actual record" not a public handicapping record at WA prices. Keep that in mind when comparing to other peoples.
