Internet connection help

Have my connection through a router, although only my computer has this problem. It seems whenever my computer is idle for a decent amount of time, ex: sleeping or at work, my internet connection does not work when i come back. I need to restart my computer and the connection is fine. I have tried restarting the router and do not have anything like hibernate or turn off hard disks active. I have also tried disabling my network card and having windows search to reinstall it, no luck. This is a high speed connection btw. any ideas appreciated.

yea i run zonealarm and i have norton protection center for anti virus and the like, i have had zonealarm forever and norton since October, this problem only started about a month ago, willing to try any ideas, will check the faq, thanks.

I remember some other user mentioning that ZoneAlarm was causing problems when set to the high security level. You could try setting it to medium (this is under the firewall section).

switched it to medium, hopefully it works. If not I will try the things listed in the faq. thanks for your response.
