Excellent news. Good to see that TV producers are still able to come up with and execute a successful poker show.

"Fans will also get their first look at Poker Hall of Fame member Chip Reese, who will lock horns with Phil Ivey, Jennifer Harman, Doyle Brunson, Sam Farha, and Eli Elezra in what promises to be a match of "Mega" proportions."

"A special one-hour "Director’s Cut" show hosted by Shana will air each Saturday evening ...featuring highlights of each week’s match, insightful player interviews dealing with strategy and analysis, and more of Shana’s popular bloopers."

I wish they raised the stakes.
All the body language I hear from the pros is "why the [censored] am I hear?"

This format needs major tweaking. I love that they show all the hands, that's great. The player-driven dialogue just isn't cutting it.

I disagree. My new favorite announcer is Ali Nijad, precisly because he doesn't say much and lets the action speak. I think it's refreshing not to have to listen to a couple of nitwit announcers who want to show us how good they are at analyzing the play even though we all know they have the benefit of seeing the hole cards and multiple takes. Even at the quiet PAD tables there are still things to see.

If only MNF would take a page from PADs playbook, I'd be in pigskin heaven.

Agreed! I remember watching NBC's NO announcer NFL game experiment many years ago and found it to be a colossal bore. I do remember vaguely it was between the Jets and the Dolphins but that's all I remember.

Many of the PAD episodes remind me of that disaster. I still enjoy watching Negreanu, Matusow, Hellmuth, Hansen and many more of the PAD pros play and trash talk with each other, but I've had enough of this quiet format, same basic group of players and lousy 3:30 am start time for my Buffalo affiliate. I don't think I'll even be tempted to go to the library (my 166 Mhz Cpu is too slow) to watch the episodes on NBC.com after I cancel my cable at the end of May.

I can get almost all the major shows for free on Canadian tv but was so curious about PAD that I had to get cable to watch and tape PAD on NBC. I'm glad I watched PAD but I certainly won't miss it.

PAD Grade= C+ (the + is for being on 6 days a week)
