Default soft games?

I'm currently planning a trip in June to Vegas. A couple of friends and I have never been and we want to play poker. Where will the juicy NL games be? (2/4 - 10/20)

Usually inside the casinos, probably in the area called the "poker room". Don't trust the guys spreading a game on the street corner.

All the n/l games 10/20 and below are an easy touch if you adjust your game to the flavor of the day.

For capped games on the strip below 10/20 every room except Wynns will have what you are looking for.
MGM, "B", Planet Hollywood, Ceasers, "V" for 1/2 to 2/5 games.

Wynn has no cap on their games.

But my JUICY kind of game may not be your kind of juicy game.

thanks Don.
the reason I ask is that the biggest game in this damn town is 1/2NL every night and 2/5NL once a week. I'm not sure where I'd stand in the stakes there. I'm guessing that I'll start in the 3/6ish NL games and feel things out.
The games here are pretty tough - college kids who know their censored grinding rent out, and the older guys who've been playing since Vietnam.

I suggest hitting these places first----

MGM 1/2 is very easy. 2/5 can have a few ok to good players but nothing to worry about.
"V" 1/2 is an easy touch. most are 4/8 players wanting to try no-limit. max buy-in is $300. The 2/5 can get a little tough at times but again, most are want a b kind of players.

The "B" 2/5 day I would not look at, but at night after 5 or so,, WOOO HOOO

Planet Hollywood 1/2 very easy and not a bad new room.

Good luck----

well I was only out there once and am in the same boat as you....I played at Aladdin/Planet Hollywood, pretty soft but only $200/max....Venetian wasnt that tough either but a bit better than Aladdin...I wanted to also follow up the Op's question and ask about daytimes...do you think it matters game softness day or night on like weekdays in vegas at 1-2 NL, since so many people on vacation there all the time? I also have heard that MGM, Ballys are pretty soft, the Wynn is probably tough due to uncapped, and I have no experience about Mirage and Ceasars though I heard Ceasars is pretty decent players...good luck

I have found daytime at most places are just fine as well as nights. Weekends just do not matter other than a few more games to pick from.
I do know that if this mid-limit player can make money in the no-limit games around here you young guys who play no-limit all the time should do just fine.

thanks Don...I am just what you describe too, LOL a young no-limit player, I am not especially 'good' either especially relative to 2+2'ers but I am 'good' enough to beat bad/weak-passive/stupid players, I am hoping to get out to vegas on at least a part time basis in a few yrs and give it a go regularly....I have never played limit and know it's more 'consistent' money but a totally different game...vegas is just a goldmine as theyll ALWAYS be an influx of tourists coming in to play, atlantic city doesnt seem to have anything as close to a regularity of that in terms of numbers and consistency

I heard that the Hooters 1/2 game and the Tropicana are really soft too.
