Hypothetical situation:
Let's say that the US completely withdraws all troops anywhere in the next few months to couple of years. Very soon afterwards a complete bloodbath ensues in Iraq. Not the "20 people killed by bomb" violence we have today, but the "Group X wipes out entire Group Y village" ethnic cleansing sorta violence. Who's to blame? Sadaam for f'ing up Iraq for so long, making this conflict inevitable? Bush for starting the war, removing Sadaam, and destabalizing the country? The Democrats who demanded the troops be brought up now? Nobody but the ethnic cleansers/murders themselves? None of the above? All of the above? I think the above scenario is a real possibility and if it happens we are going to hear all sides throwing blame on each other for years. Because as we know, figuring out whose to blame is far more important than resolving the actual problem. |
