US handicap system

Can somebody give me a run down of how it works? I am in AUS and i think owes is a little bit different/tougher.

Do you mean the calculation of it?


(Your score)-(course rating) = X
X*113 = Y
Y/(Course slope) = Differential
Differential*0.96 = handicap

Your handicap index is the average of the lowest 10 of your last 20 differentials. the index is converted back to a course handicap for each specific course you play based on its slope and rating.
