Default Top 5 list ...day 4...Top 5 athletic performances since 1900

Not much of a sports buff but I thought this would make for lively discourse.

I'll start but again ..not gonna be the best list. BTW this can be a career achievement or a specific achievement.

1. Oscar Robertson 1961-62 average triple-double entire
season
2. Wayne Gretzky most points in a season 215 1985
3. Michael Phelps (World Championships)
4. Babe Didrickson 17 consecutive tour wins 1946
5. Ty Cobb Career batting average .366

Triple double for an entire season..to me that has to get the nod but there are so many great performances to choose from...whose to know.

Tom. Top 5 Least known or misquoted historical facts.

I'm very underwhelmed by the inclusion of Phelps on this list. I'd take Spitz performance in the 72 Olympics over Phelps any day.

you know, i am feeling pretty meh about this 'i have to start a top 5 every single day' thing. especially when list threads have a big propensity to suck, and you start ones like this, which is clearly in the wrong forum.
