When it comes to orgasm control, is poker the new baseball?

The whole "think about baseball" thing never really worked much for me. I always had to work on keeping everything calm using more complicated methods with mixed results.

I had an epiphany last weekend, however, during a very pleasant afternoon with my wife. When I was close to putting an early end to things, I desperately tried to distract myself.

The first thing that came to mind was playing Ace-King in middle position to a raise in a $25 SnG. On a scale of one to 10 (one being flacid and 10 being the point of no return) I went from about a 9.5 to a 5 in a matter of seconds. It worked several times before the time was right. YMMV.

I admit, these thoughts did put me out of "the moment," but I was able to quickly get back into my duties. My wife never sensed a disconnect.

Has anyone else used this method? I wonder if the key is to think of something in which you're truly interested in order to achieve the proper distraction.

Yea, i've used the poker thing before as well, but mine was always playing a mid PP to a raise and how my actions would differ if i was playing cash, MTT, STT etc. This was usually to stop me getting bored during a one night stand or something though (esp if it was on one of our pull a pig nights!)

I find thinking about omahi hi/lo odds or triple draw helps slow things down alot.
