What's your assessment of Dallas's chances in the Western Playoffs this year?

Michael Jordan. Not only was he the consummate clutch performer in meaningful situations, but he revolutionized the NBA and business strategy towards sports.

6 rings, 5 time NBA MVP, Defensive player of the year, 10 time All NBA first team, 9 time All NBA defensive team. Best two way player in the history of the game.

Good answer. That was just to test your cred.

Now... who's the best player in the league right now?

Im assuming you saw Gerald Green's dunk last night (number 1 play on sports center).

Was it:

1. classless? (up by 12 with two seconds to go)
2. the sickest dunk EVAR!?!?!?

This is perhaps Dallas's best chance at a ring so far in the Dirk Nowitzki era. Jason Terry has admirably filled in for Steve Nash and Josh Howard has blossomed, with Nowitzki playing the best ball of his life.

The Mavs will go deep into the playoffs; with the way things are shaping up, they will beat the Clippers and should face the Spurs in the Western Conference Semi-finals. That matchup will be decided on whether Tim Duncan can get healthy. Despite playing on one leg, they Spurs are still dominant.

I suspect it will be close, going to Game 6 or 7, but the Spurs playoff experience will ultimately be the deciding factor, and they will go on to face the Suns, who have Amare Stoudemire back in the starting lineup.
