Flop: (t90) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, MP2 checks

SB checks, <font color="red">Hero bets t60</font>, <font color="red">MP2 raises to t150</font>, <font color="gray">SB folds</font>, <font color="gray">Hero folds</font>

MP2 is a pretty good regular and is probably limping with a pocket pair and not AQ because he would of bet the flop most likely. You think he has a set? You like my line on the turn?

Ya I play it the same. Def. bet turn you get called a lot more than raised, and not often bluffraised.

Hi Slimon,

Let's look at this street by street.

Pre-flop: Nice speculative hand out of position, check is perfect.

Flop: I like betting out here. With top pair your hand is likely best, and by putting out the first bet (in the 45-60 range) you can figure out where you are in the hand, have fold equity, and this is a low chip variance approach -- always a good thing in low blind SNG play. But if you do check, that brings us to ...

Turn: The pot is 300, it costs 90 to call, and your call closes the action. So folding is out since you have better than 3:1 with a likely-best top pair, and raising, while defensible, builds a big pot with a TPWK hand -- something to generally avoid in low-blind SNG play. By process of elimination, smooth-call this turn raise.

Best Regards,
Collin
