need some suggestions for a challenge
Yesterday, I was "tricked" into depositing some money at a site I generally dislike, just to play a tournament with a friend. I ended up depositing $60, kind of arbitarily.
After losing the tournament, I sat down at a 1/2 six-max table with the default buy-in of $40. The players were bad beyond description. A monkey would have won, and so in short time, I was up about $17. Anyway, I thought this might be a good time for one of those challenges, where I see how fast I can move up without going broke. But I'm not sure what the rules should be, and I'm looking for suggestions. For example: I could be required to move up whenever I have 20-30 BB for the next level. The key is to make the requisite br amount to be low enough so that I stand a significant chance of going broke (otherwise, it won't be interesting), yet not so overwhelmingly great as to make it impossible to progress a few levels. Any ideas about what my requirements should be? This will be exclusively six-max limit regardless. |

Re: need some suggestions for a challenge
Didn't someone mention a 15bb challenge here before?
You move up when you have 15bb for the next level. This would be a challenge and provide an opportunity to play some higher limits if you win without risking your BR. |

Re: need some suggestions for a challenge
I think this particular site requires a minimum buy-in of 20 bb, so I couldn't go lower than that.

Re: need some suggestions for a challenge
By the way, I think my main criteria in selecting the BB amount is to have enough cash at the table for one session. When I play 5/10, I usually sit with $250. So perhaps I should just go with 25 bb throughout.
Does 25 bb seem too easy? |

Re: need some suggestions for a challenge
Try running it up to 1k in less than a week. Then buy yourself something nice.

Re: need some suggestions for a challenge
I'd try to run it up as fast as I can with whatever buy-in is standard for the site, but maybe try it at a different game? Play some PLO or something. It'll be like a vacation.
