Recommendations for buying a safe?
I'd imagine this has been asked on here before, but I couldn't find an answer with a cursory search.
I often have a fair amount of cash on hand at home, and I'd like it to be a little safer than the envelope in my dresser I have it in now. Looking around online, I have no idea if the safes I'm looking at are any good or not. It doesn't have to be big at all - as long as, say, a brick could fit inside it, that's plenty big. I'd just be using it for cash, and maybe some important documents. I just need something that's very secure and fireproof I guess. Any sites that have something good? A specific model recommendation would be even better. I don't mind paying for quality. Thanks. |

Re: Recommendations for buying a safe?
I really don't see how a safe, especially a small one, will make money any more secure. What would prevent the potential robber from making out with the entire safe ?
I would just recommend a deposit box in a bank. |

How about one that is bolted into place? 250 lbs+ bolted to walls/floor is not something your average burgler would be able to remove in less than half a day. I have several gun safes(not from brown though) and empty with a hand truck they are a pain in the butt to move(especially stairs). |

Re: Recommendations for buying a safe?
I got a nice big ass safe from sentry at office max, its about 3.5 feet tall, 2 feet deep, 2.5 ft wide, I bolted it to the ground, and also have a smaller safe within it that is super fire proof within it also by sentry for documents and cash.

don't, get a safe-deposit box [/ QUOTE ] I'd rather have something more convenient, since I need cash regularly for local games. |
