I'm looking for cheap hosting with SSH which is stable etc. Anyone can point me to one? I've found www.hostmonster.com but that's it. Is this legit? Seems like too good an offer to me. Thanks.

www.axishost.com has been very, very good to me.

It's run by this lady named Tina - she personally keeps an IRC chat room open if you run into any issues.

I was with her for a while, then her company got bought out - and service went to HELL. She started a new company (axishost), which I switched to, and probably will never change again.
