MTT *Rebuy* ROI
Ok so [ QUOTE ]
6. What is a good ROI/ITM%/FT%? Difficult question to answer, generally many have said that any positive ROI is a good one, 100% is solid. [/ QUOTE ] How do these numbers translate to rebuys? I imagine 10R's are equivalent to $30-$40 buy-in tourneys for good players. If that player has an ROI of say 50% in $30-$40 buy-in tourneys, how much higher will his ROI be for rebuys? Just looking for estimates of course. |

Re: MTT *Rebuy* ROI
I would assume that the roi would be the same.
If you are playing a 10 rebuy, and you rebuy 6 times, your buyin is $70. Yes, you will win more, but you put more in to start with. And, if you thought the variance was a killer in freezout mtts, you aint seen nothing yet! |

If that player has an ROI of say 50% in $30-$40 buy-in tourneys, how much higher will his ROI be for rebuys? Just looking for estimates of course. [/ QUOTE ] First, good players often play crazy during the rebuy hour. They do so to try and build huge stacks, and failing that, then at least chip up their table. They also want to create a loose image that they can exploit in the 2nd hour with their premium hands. So, good players aren't averaging $30 or $40 in $10 rebuy tourneys. More like a $70-80 average. Sometimes they go off for $200, etc. That's the downside. The upside is that good players know how to play a big stack, and they are excellent tournament players with deep money on the table. Unlike normal online freezeouts, the average "M" is much higher in rebuys for much longer. So these good players build big stacks often enough that their EV goes way up due to their deep stack skill. |
