Re: NL50 - top 2 on tough board
Well, it looks like you checkraised all-in (I see that "Hero" is in red on the turn), and I think that's okay, even though of course TT, KQ, and even the case aces or jacks (21 combos total) are all possible. Villain sure is aggressive postflop, though, and AK/AQ/AT is 22 combos.
Grr. I'm not claiming the range I just gave is all Villain will ever have, but it is looking like you may be a slight underdog once we take outs into account (you have the worst of those, on average). But it looks like you're going to be playing for stacks anyway if Villain wants to, and you have a hand that I don't think you can get away from, and at least when you checkraise the turn you take the decision of how much Villain wants to play for out of his hands. |

Re: NL50 - top 2 on tough board
I don't like just calling the flop, we're oop and given the villain's aggro stats we don't really know where we stand. He could do this w/AK/AQ/AT. Like NickC said, I don't see how you get away from this.

Re: NL50 - top 2 on tough board
Fold PF AJo OOP suks and you are way behind a 16/13 UTG raising standards..With effective stacks 200BB+ I am not playing an easily dominated hand OOP...
As played if you want to play for stacks shove it in on the flop... Have you seen villain overplay AK or AQ before??? I like to B/F the turn...Villain will pay you off with AK,AQ and AT and vs most villains it an easy fold to a raise... |

Re: NL50 - top 2 on tough board
I don't like it preflop due to the stack sizes and the baaaaad reverse implied odds against a TAG.

Re: NL50 - top 2 on tough board
Tough decision on the flop as only 3 hands here are scary: KQ/AA/1010, AA is unlikely due to you holding one of the aces. He cold very well be overplaying AK/A10, but I think this is very read dependant. Personally, his flop 3-bet smells like a set or KQ.
I don't like your turn check, I would go for pot control here. If he raises your turn bet, I fold. |

Re: NL50 - top 2 on tough board
PF isnt the best, but with decent relative position and deeper stacks, I can sometimes see a call.
Flop: You have to think about what your doing and why. Are you going to play for stacks in this situation? I would. Alot of times, villan will be raising with pair + draw (ie. AK) and such. AT is definitely there as well. I think that you should bet/3-bet or bet/call and c/r the turn. c/r-ing the flop also works as well. Here is a sortve similar thread, minus the stack sizes. http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...rue#Post9051354 I think that all your options are good on the flop, bearing that you don't fold. c/r-ing works, b/3b works. I don't like bet/call as much. Leaves for awkard turn play. I like the flop lead, I would probably 3-bet after he raises and probably look to get it in. Given this turn and this action, I would c/r AI and feel pretty good about it. |
