Just wanted to let all the Texas/Oklahoma players know that WinStar will be opening their new poker room this coming Sunday, April 1st. It will have 40+ tables, waiting area, and it's own food concessions. Word from the dealers is that it is really, really nice and an obvious giant step up from the room they are in now.
P.S. If anything, we should be glad that there will be no more long wait list on the weekends when the Show Place room is occupied. |

No alcohol. Indian Casino policies. And it's where the old bingo hall used to be if you are familiar with the layout. If not, its on the complete opposite side of the casino from where the room is now.
[ QUOTE ] FORTY poker tables? Wow. [/ QUOTE ] Not sure if that was a sarcastic comment or not but it's a maaaajor step up from what the room is now. |

As you face the building, it's going to be way over on the right, which may make parking closer easier. Or not. Wow, I can't believe it's really going to happen.

Nobody seems to answer, but are they going to fix the brush situation? The Yelling System doesn't scale to 40 tables, I expect...
God, now if they would just do a tournament series with a few limit tourneys. *drool* |

Well recently they brought in walkie talkies to help out but it seems they just like to yell instead, LOL. Like you, I hope they get some sort of PA system or something.
And according to one of the room managers, the way they do tournaments is supposed to completely change with the possibility of multiple tournaments a day which in itself would be awesome! |

It's just weird to me how many of their dealers I saw playing at Choctaw, and I've been to Cherokee in Tulsa... both have brush systems MILES ahead of what they're using. It would make sense to phase in a new system at the time of the move. Even just the remotes that Choctaw has would make things about 10 times more efficient. (Though I fantasize about Cherokee's system... I was only there to play tourneys, so I didn't get to play with it much.)

yeah the time the dealer remotes save at choctaw adds up, but lately the traffic through the choctaw poker room has been slow so it doesn't take much to get it flowing smoothly. I do believe they are drawing plans for a new poker room as well, away from the rest of the casino.
