Default UIGEA claims Planet Poker as victim as of March 31st

From the Planet Poker website:

"Planet Poker, the longest running and most trusted Internet cardroom, will be suspending real money operations effective 31 March 2007. Management sincerely regrets making this decision but it has become impossible for a small cardroom to properly service their customers due to the changes caused by the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act in the U.S. "

I agree it is too bad, Planet was the first online poker room as far as I can tell.

I do not know what arrangements they have made to transfer player accounts, but we would welcome their players' business at TruePoker.

It is a nice excuse to blame the UIGEA for going out of business, but I am not sure I buy it. Most others servicing U.S. customers have done very well post UIGEA.

Wow this is the first room I ever played on for both real and fake money, the cardroom sucked but had very easy games.

Omg I just checked out there website and now they are selling freeplay chips lol. You can buy 5 million chips for only $50, what a bargain!!

I thought Plant Poker was actually rigged. Not in the running bad way either.

Ah yes, but could you have posted it without also predicting the ultimate demise of all poker sites 'cause you know its just a matter of time.....

Also, most of those 2000 hits would have been folks looking for ways to post a satiric response.

Not me, by the way, I kinda like hearing from the doom and gloom crowd every now and then .

Skill,

All I did was post a quote from the Planet website. As it happens, I do NOT think this fortells the ultimate demise of all poker sites.

"Milton ur not me."

THAT is the truest thing you have ever written and I have no argument with it at all.

Actually, I fully expect you to re-post this theme in about 3 days as another thread.
