Default One for the elders.

Tufat and others. Is this the essence of the previous disscusion? Villain is TAG 19/yada yada yada. It is probably known that I will overbet on the river sometimes with big hands.

unless villain is known as an habitual floater in 3-bet pots, what hands you want to get it in with are ever checking turn, risking having it checked through and having to make a dumb river overbet?

I think this is a good play to make occasionally. Good board for it here.

I don't know if I loved the other one, and I don't know if I love this one. Is villain really going to buy that AA/KK checked the turn in this situation? What do you think he puts you on here?

I should also not that if villain is a huge robot and won't put you on a hand, but will just say "hmm, big bet - time to fold JJ" then it's better.

If JJ is ever calling the flop and checking this turn, it should be with the intention to call a blank river.

What hand does he put me on is a valid question. What hands will he call with and how often is the other. I got to this spot and was clueless as usual. Tufat pushes in similar spots. Better than any plan I had. It would be more effective if we were a little deeper for sure.

To a normal value bet I agree.

Yah I didn't love tufat's line on that hand, either.

This isn't terrible and will work enough - it's not total spew, it's just, why not fire your 2nd barrel on the turn? If you're betting the turn here with the goods, then bet with air sometimes too.
