Internet keeps trying to connect and it's making me mad!

My roommate wanted me to try something today so that he could transfer some files from his computer to mine. He had me do a Network Setup Wizard, and so I did. The idea overall ended up not working, but now a window keeps popping up asking me to connect. It's driving me nuts! I can't figure out how to make it stop. Please help!

It hasn't done it since last night, but it is an Adelphia dial-up screen asking me to put in my username and password. Kind of like what a dial-up screen would look like. We have cable internet and I currently have a wireless connection to it.

IF it shows up again...even if it doesnt and you want to get rid of it.
start/control panel/internet options
Click the connections tab.
Highlight and remove that particular connection.

Here it is. It just popped up again. The thing is that I have had that connection on there for like a year now and didn't start having problems with it until my roommate asked me to try the Setup Network Wizard thing. I did what you told me to do and deleted that dial-up connection. Hopefully that fixes it.

do what ubintook said, remove the connection.

make sure in ie -> tools - > internet options -> connections 'never dial a connection' is selected. might be slightly different way to get there from older vers or ie.

I had the same problem with one of these until I went here.
I was going mad trying to fix this in control panel...

Yah you need to let windows know how you want to connect to the internet -If dial up is set up in your network connections then thats what its going to do -Same as wireless you need to turn on the wireless button to make it work -and tell it what network you want to connect to - alot of people think you just turn it on and its supposed to connect -thats all I got to say about that ! lol
