Default Why did my pick lose? Please Read!

I just chose OSU on a halftime line betting with betcris.

STRAIGHT BET
ONLINE/-1 Betting 5.00 To Win 4.35
03/17/2007[2730] 2H OHIO ST -3½-115- CBBLOSE

I logged on after the game expecting to see the money I had won in my account. (I'm not a big wheel I only bet 5 bucks a game)Why did that bet lose? I thought OSU only had to win by 3.5 or more?

Thanks for your help guys. I'm new to sports betting in case you can't tell!

Ohio State was up 4 at halftime. You bet that they'd win by more than 3.5 in the second half and overtime.

They won by 3 in the second half and overtime (7 overall) which was not enough to cover the bet. You were one point short.

Second half bets are for the second half only. Pretend the score is 0-0 at halftime. From that point on, Ohio St scored 49 to Xavier's 46.

i'd like to say something like, 'gotta love bettors who make halftime bets and don't even realize it means 2nd half only', but then, we've all been there i guess...
