2 pair in the blinds
This is a hand that I thought was routine from this morning, but I've been rethinking it. Opponent in this hand is random aggressive, but he's playing most pots. He's cold called with A2o pre-flop and called down with his 2s, he's limped AKs pre-flop from MP, he raises almost every button and SB when it's folded to him, but sometimes he can find a fold if he has air I guess.
0.5/1 6-max. Hero has T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in the BB Folded to SB who raises. Hero calls. Flop is T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] SB checks, Hero... |

Re: 2 pair in the blinds
Umm, bet. I'll give you $25 in Sklansky bucks if you've got a good argument for anything else.

Re: 2 pair in the blinds
Bet? Why let him draw at that straight? If he raises you 3-jack it and call a cap. Lead at a safe card on the turn and if raised cc to the river.

Re: 2 pair in the blinds
abs,
i think you should check behind every street, and then we can change your name to JenniferTilly. which scenario is more likely: - villain would fold to a bet here, but a turn card comes which improves his hand enough that he wants to give you action. - villain has enough of the board to call a bet here, *plus* the chance that a turn card comes which improves his hand enough that he wants to give you more action. ? abs, honey, i think you should take a break from teh poker for a little while. you are running bad and it is affecting your game. i'm not saying that just because of this post. |

Abs,
The fact that you don't have to protect against overcards doesn't mean that he's unwilling to call with them. He'll be happy to draw incorrectly very frequently here. |

Re: 2 pair in the blinds
Bet. He has AA and wants to trap you into betting the flop and turn so he can check-raise you on a big street.

Unless you're checking all your draws here it's a good idea to bet with any made hand as well, especially one this strong. In addition it's awesome when he's one of those tardbots who likes to checkraise after raising preflop with hands like AA or AK or KQ and whatnot as you can spazz out on the flop or the turn and have a lot of fun building a bit pot to SCOOOOOOOOOOP. Very very very very very very very few hands that raise preflop from the SB checkfold this flop. Rob |

Re: 2 pair in the blinds
If he'll call down with a pair of 2s and an A kicker, he might as well call down with A high. Why would you not bet?
