Default Improving my Math Skills

I have never truly understood the math required in poker from other then a general basic knowledge level.

Can anyone recommend some drills, software or something to help me really understand and use it to it's full potential.?

Thanks

Take one hand a day. Start with a hand that has a draw, playing against a made hand.

Figure out each players equity on each street by hand. Decide if each player played correctly, and if not, decide what they should have done.

Find another interesting hand the next day, if you did a flush draw the first day, look at a straight draw the second day.

Then maybe overcards.

Flush draw with a pair.

Gutshot, with one overcard, and a backdoor draw.

Etc.

Do these problems by hand, then check your work with twodimes or some other poker calculater.

Remember what you found out.

After you have done a bunch of these, and know the process, then just use a poker calculater, because you don't need to go through the process, and you will be confident that the calculater gives you the right answer.

On the table you can use the 2/4 rule. It is not completely accurate, but that doesn't really matter. Just multiply the number of outs you have with two to determine the percentage the next card will be one of your outs. Multiply with four too determine it for the next two cards.

then your next step is to take into account his hand range. He capped preflop in position maybe? Well, we might be looking at 18 combinations of AA/KK/QQ and 16 combinations of AK.

Does anyone have any reviews/opinions of Bill Chen's Mathmatics of Poker? I just got it and looks promising.

It made one of my friends cry, so he gave it to me, so I can decipher it for him. It is actually one of the books that I am going to order the next time I buy books. There seems to be a lot of thought provoking stuff in there.
