Default why bar Sniper from a goodbye/thanks from his previous forum?

Not allowing Sniper to post a simple thanks in his ex-forum seems petty to me:

It seems petty and more likely to cause tension than let it reach catharsis and pass. It's perhaps not a thing that mods should indulge in.

I'd like a line from other mods, in case I am wrong.

Jesus Christ,

The thread belongs in MMB, or wherever the [censored] Sniper felt like putting it. If he felt like posting it in STTF I would have left it there too.

Also, the fact that Ron_Mexico hasn't been banned yet is sad, and I take partial responsibility for not taking my opportunity while the mod of BBV.

This is what I sent Mike to explain the situation, so I'll just post it here too.

Mike, there was already a thread going on the subject when sniper posted in MMB, so I asked him to post in that thread instead and he wouldn't, so his thread with the approval of mat got moved. That's fine if he wants to make a parting remark to the forum he used to mod, but its a situation of how many threads do you really need on the subject, and why do you decide to wait until the attention to the subject is starting to die off to post 2 new threads on the subject.

Meb,

My original comments were under the assumption that the "other" thread was one in ATF, not MMB. However, honestly, I don't see the problem of having 2 threads on something, esp when a mod or a big regular wants their post to be noticed. Meh. I'd rather you locked the active thread almost.

I really think that locking the active thread was the way to go here.

I don't think it was petty.

All,

is this really that big of a deal? we are talking about a thread being moved. seems like trying to make a big deal out of something which isn't.

Do other mods think it's sending a signal to posters then? or not?
