Default Hoya Paranoia

Save the post Pitt game let-down in the Carrierdome, Georgetown has been absolutely torrid for the past 2 months, running all over the big east. The whole team plays fabulous defense, Green and Hibbert are both lottery caliber front court players, and Wallace is deadly from downtown.

I see the Hoyas a final four caliber team. Agree or disagree?

I'm not a huge Hibbert fan; he's a big body but like Aaron Gray of Pitt I think he can be neutralized by an athletic frontline. Green & the defense are very good obv. Might be FF caliber but these days I think that's true of a lot of teams; and they're not suited to play catch-up if they ever get behind.

Why not exactly? They are a superb shooting team. Green and Wallace are unconscious from the outside, and Hibbert is in the top 3 in the nation in FG percentage. They came back against Pitt recently and looked very good in the process.

It all depends on matchups. I like them if they're in a region with Memphis, UNC, or tOSU.

I'm a Duck fan so I only saw them early in the season vs Oregon and they really didn't look that good. Obviously that's changed, but I'd be curious to know where that difference has come from. In the game I watched, Hibbert looked very uncoordinated and thus not the threat people thought he would be. The guard play was also ho-hum.

Their offense is real slow-paced though.

very good defensive team...hibbert is at least a presence although he's not very good....jeff green's a top 10-15 player in the country. They can beat anyone on a given day
