Re: Do any sites allow linux users?
Pokerstars will help you set up their program through wine if you e-mail them. Also, some non-US sites like pokerroom have java clients that you can play off of.

[/ QUOTE ] Here's a link to the pokerstars client page on the wine application database. Pokerstars works very nicely with Linux and wine. If you contact stars support you will probably get something like "...doesn't support ... your own risk ... can't guarantee ... blah blah". Stars works great for me on wine under Linux. I have also used WPX on wine under Linux, but I have not tried it recently. |

Re: Do any sites allow linux users?
Loosely related but I've run P*, PT and PA successfully under VMWare. It wasn't a linux host but I don't think that should make a difference though once you build the guess O/S on Windows.

Re: Do any sites allow linux users?
PT: Crossover Office FTW (run Stars from inside the same bottle, even if you're running it through Wine)
PAHUD: I didn't test it, but given the screen drawing methods it uses, I doubt Crossover or Wine would run it properly. Party: Cedega runs it. |

Re: Do any sites allow linux users?
howdy,
I never did get PT to run under Wine (MDBtools was the weak link it seems.) My solution is using openSUSE 10.2 as the current desktop and use the free VmWARE Server product to host a WinXP guest that runs all the poker stuff. I run PostGreSQL on Linux (same server) for PT backend. You need an XP license for the VmWare guest but this way I can have my family use the PC and do standard email/chat while playing worry free. |
