Re: is this why i need pokertracker?
I see this so often, the original raiser going all-in when the 3rd flush card comes.
I don't know why they do that. His opponent will fold if he doesn't have the flush. So he wins no more money. His opponent will call if he has the flush and the original raiser will probably go broke. I would keep the pot small. Check on the turn and call a bet on the river only if it's 1/2 or less of the pot. There are better times to win big. |

And no you don't need pokertracker to know you should keep the pot small in this situation.

Re: is this why i need pokertracker?
Poker tracker or no, you should be at least considering that villain is on a FD when he calls your flop bet. When the third diamond comes, you need to slow down. Also, I would recommend that you bet that flop much bigger than you did, say 1.5 pot. This will make it -EV for most drawing hands to call.

[/ QUOTE ] I sometimes like the opponent to put more money in on the flop. So i bet not too much, say 3/4 of the pot. When the 3rd flush card doesn't come on the turn I make a potsize bet. |

[/ QUOTE ] And what do you do then when the 3rd flush card comes? Folding because a flush is in his range seems very weak! You should make it unprofitable for him to be drawing in first place, so IŽd as well just raise 1.5 times the pot. Most villains at this level will chase the draw anyway and you win in the long run no matter whether the fd gets there or not because they will make that play over and over again. imo betting 1.5 * pot on the flop is the way superior play but if you choose not to (for whatever reason you defenitely have to slow down when the flush gets there... |
