Live 5/5 NL $1k-max Hand#1
I'm not a total noob to NL but I'd like to post some hands to make sure my thoughts are in line with you all here. My limit game broke so I played some $5/5NL last night at my local card barn.
I bought in for the max and won a few hands in my first orbit so I have $1200~, SB in the hand has me covered, barely and I'm new to the game he is playing a lot of hands but hasn't gotten out of line yet from what I have seen in the first orbit. one fold and I raise $20: AKo in EP. 7 to the flop of: K7Kr (I so understand why some of my limit boys have switched) 2 checks to me and I bet $80 All fold to the SB who c/r to $200 total. How have I done so far and what should I do now? Thank you for your responses, Joe Tall |

Re: Live 5/5 NL $1k-max Hand#1
i thought you refused to ever play nl?
anyway i'm not sure it really matters what you do. there are no scare cards and there's almost no chance he'll ever fold even K2. if you call the pot will be 550 with 1k behind, so you'll have no problems getting it in. he should never be bluffing, and again will never fold a K, so you could either make it like 400 to go or call and shove the turn. don't see much of a difference between the 2 |

Re: Live 5/5 NL $1k-max Hand#1
I like call and letting him bluff turn. If he leads turn, I'd probably just overshove since live players never fold trips any kicker. looks like KT. I also c/rai on turn as well to look like huge bluff neway so in the future the table thinks I'm a nut. Stack sizes really don't make this that awkward to get in on turn after smooth calling in position, assuming he'l lead turn at least $150.

Joe,
so far so good. "think" for awhile, then call, and do whatever it takes to get it in - if he's got that "i'm coming after you" look in his eye let him barrel off, if you think he's trying to get it in w/ a K then just raise the turn. Surf |

Re: Live 5/5 NL $1k-max Hand#1
Raise more preflop. Standard raise has to be more than $20 at this table??
Def. just call the flop and get the money in on turn/river. |
