Re: Strars WSOP sats have started!!!!!!!!!!!!
The only things different from last year that I see at the moment are they have no $5.50 rebuys to the Double shootouts and they added a weekly $320 qualifier at 2am eastern on Sundays(I think they had a few $320's last year but they were random and didn't occur on a schedule.)

Re: Strars WSOP sats have started!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is there any way on Stars or any other US friendly site to gain entry to one of the other events, specifically one of the Limit HE events?

Re: Strars WSOP sats have started!!!!!!!!!!!!
Usually FTP has smaller event satelitte's and I think AP gives WSOP money that can be used in any event.

Re: Strars WSOP sats have started!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is probably the best news since the UIGEA mess started. Significantly, 'Stars FAQ for the WSOP appears to read exactly the same as it has in prior years. IOW, there is no language similar to what FullTilt has been using for winners of its' WPT qualifiers ("we deposit $10,000 to your FullTilt account--it's then up to you to buy your way into the event, and at that point we'll credit your account with the additional spending money to complete your package").
To put it more simply, this means that Harrah's/Rio is going to accept third party payments for online qualifiers from (presumably) all of the poker sites. The reason why I say this is significant, is that Harrah's would not be doing this if it believed there would be any legal repercussions from doing so. Clearly, it would be very embarassing if the turnout for this year's ME were around 3,000 or so, after last year's nearly 9,000. Hence... I believe that the B&M casinos have realized that online gambling is (of course) a net positive for them, and helps to grow the market, creating more potential profit for all parties. Further, I believe that we can surmise that Harrah's is very likely putting its' muscle behind efforts to lessen the effects of the UIGEA, or perhaps even (dare we hope?) semi-permanently preventing any onerous regulations from ever coming into effect. Prediction: By no later than the start of WSOP '07, Party and all the other sites will have returned to the US market. I'm not quite as sure about Neteller; however, I think it very likely that some other, equally good payment processor will have sprung up in its place. Any thoughts? |
