Is he paying attention? 5-10 live
Playing some live poker at the bellagio. I think this hand happened right after I had tripled up and won a 3300 pot with mid set. I had been playing super tight for the previous 3 hours because Q4o sucks balls. Villan is 2+2er triumph and he knows who I am. He has been playing Taggish without showing down hands.
3 limpers to me on the button and I make it 50 with 89 spades. Its a pot sweetener but big enough that live donks will consider it a real hand. As well my image is such that nobody will put me on this so with the deep stacks im more than happy. However, triumph in the sb now makes it 170 total. Eveeryone foldsa nd I ask how much he has left. He says 900ish. The thing is im not sure if he was being observant. If he was, he knows with those limps my raise was pretty small and a pot sweetener. Therefore he could be stealing often. However he might not even be paying attention and just has a real hand. Whats the play? |

Re: Is he paying attention? 5-10 live
I think I muck since calling sucks given his stack size and and shoving seems pretty bad.
although he is a 2+2er people 3 bet and resteal from blinds much less live, in my experience at 5-10 at Foxwoods and Borgata. Maybe bellagio plays livlier? |

i cant see how u can call here you will only have 2 psb left after flop and i dont see how u can extract enough value/not get stacked enough for this to be +ev

Re: Is he paying attention? 5-10 live
also i doubt he is picking on you since he knows you are 2p2 and there are plenty of other fish to take money from. and if he is, so what. find a better spot to make a stand

Folding seems the best option to me by miles, but it was live so what do I know.

So he probably has a big pair which he will be able to fold postflop. And you may be able to sucker him in if you hit the flop hard. And you may be able to snap off a bluff from AK. Basically, in position, with a hand like 89s and a little room to work, I think we should be able to outplay him often enough to turn a profit both by showing down the best hand and also by stealing some pots. |

TWP, I dont think he will find a fold post flop with a big pair since he has slightly over 100bb and will have two psb left.

Well, if it's true that he always has a big pair and that he'll never fold it, then yes fold preflop. But for most players neither of those things are true. They will find a fold when they think they are beat and they can also have AK and some other hands here, too. In which case I like a call even with only 100bb.
