stars 300
1.25 hours into it, 9 handed, blinds at 50/100. some guy who tends to limp more than normal raises to 300 from UTG+2. Folded to me in the BB. He has 1600 left. I have AQ. What if I had 99, AJ?
my stack is 4.5k, average is 3.2k |

shove shove fold [/ QUOTE ] I might shove AJ too if I felt that he felt limping had been going badly and had decided to man up now the blinds have gone up. |

shove shove fold [/ QUOTE ] I read this with rolls switched; where you are PF raiser, BB shoves 1600, whats your calling range? |

Re: stars 300
i guess i play way too tight because i prolly fold here small raise pre flop smells like a monster to me.toss that AQ.it can get you into too much truoble in this spot.just fold and let his KK or AA go to waste.again that mini raise smells real fishy.

[/ QUOTE ] Ehm dude, the BB was 100 and villain raised 3x, i.e. the standard for 90% of online raises. Just to be totally unoriginal, I like shove shove fold as well. Against a range of 88+, AJs+, AQo+, KQs, you get the following equities: AQo: 39% 99: 42% AJo: 33% Hum yeah, possible AQo is a fold here...but prolly not, if you include FE. Too lazy to do calc. I'd probably never fold in practice. |

Re: stars 300
we have 16bb to play for and he's making it 3bb, closing the action hu getting 2.5:1 on the call i would call with all 3 hands most likely given description. someone who likes to limp a lot may or may not get outta line here and raise a random hand just because he is an erratic player. i won't doubt that as a possibility, but i do doubt he will call off his money and we will get the chips in good here the majority of the time. i think the majority of the time when he calls we are a dog, and i think he is calling most of his range. if i had to push or fold and calling wasn't an option i would agree with ansky and push the aq and 99 and fold the aj. anyone else like calling here or am i totally off base?

Re: stars 300
lucky, if you call, what's your plan on most flops? A39? QJ5? K45? Etc...you're out of position, and it puts you in a tough spot of the proper move on the flop, unless you hit huge. I think I agree to shove the 99 and AQ, and muck AJ. Calling seems to just be inviting tough decisions, and there are enough of them as is.
