Default March Madness NCAA basketball tourney discussion

OK, limon started a fake us out March Madness discussion about college athletics. But now we're halfway through the Sweet 16 and things are getting serious. Time for some b-ball discussion!

This year I'm ashamed to say I've been too busy to watch many of the games so far, but I'm cranking my college basketball watching into high gear now.

Last night, the Ohio State / Tennessee game was incredible. That was the first game I watched seriously in this tournament. Holy cow. Down 49-32 at the half, Ohio State comes back to win it by 1, including a sweet last-second rejection of a Tennessee player driving to the bucket.

Memphis also won by one point over Texas A&M.

March Madness, baby!!!!!!

Awesome games last night... but it was completely surreal going from the Kansas/SIU game to the OSU/Tenn game. It was like they were playing two different sports.

Unfortunately, I had correctly picked 7 out of the 8 teams playing yesterday, but managed to pick only 1 of the 4 winners. Bleh.

I am a huge A&M fan, so I was pretty pissed last night (OMG REFS SCREWED US 2.0 SECONDS WTF). That loss also messed up what was until that point a pretty nice bracket. Boo Memphis.

Ohio St./Tennessee was a great game, and so was SIU and Kansas. I was kinda pulling for the Salukis there for no particular reason, but they couldn't hang on.

Claunchy, I thought it was pretty much agreed upon that the refs made the right call at this point?

I loved the SIU Kansas game. I loved the scrappy defense of SIU. They are fun to watch. Defensive struggles like that are always fun for me.

Today is a big day for me. A USC win and a Vanderbilt win would pretty much seal the tournament for me barring a big fallout.

The refs made the right call. The ball bounced inbounds after it was touched and then bounced about 5 feet high. The clock doesn't stop until the ball lands out of bounds. The refs didn't screw you, poor rebounding and a missed layup did

I was kidding about the refs guys. It's not like A&M was really going to be able to put a good play together with one extra second anyway.

I do think the foul they called at the end was a little ticky-tacky, but whatever. It was a good game.
