Giant Burrito Place
Getting into the food business has been a dream of mine for quite a while and this is my current idea.
I live in San Diego and there is literally tons of Mexican Food restaurants/fast foods/little sit down type place with 2 or 3 tables but mostly people take it out. This is because there is a huge market for Mexican Food. But with so many competitors it would undoubtedly be very difficult to break into the business. What I feel what will work very well is a blunt type of name such as "Giant Burrito Place." Examples of other names around here are: "Los Rancheritos, Robertos, Sombreros, Las Flamas, and Los Rancheros" I think my name screams 'white people making mexican food' which is pretty much what people like anyway, American style Mexican food. Obviously we would specialize in making giant burritos, of course have the mandatory if you finish it you get it free and picture of you on the wall promotion. My desired location is very close to a high school with about 2000 students. Somehow I can promote to them. Comments, ideas, thoughts? |

Re: Giant Burrito Place
Too bad there's already a chain called "Toots"
edit: Seriously though, it sounds like a place I'd eat. You should really play up the gringo-ness. GL |

Re: Giant Burrito Place
There is this place near me called the Border Cafe that serves Mexican food. What's significant though is that they have this big neon sign in front of the highway with just the word "EAT" really big in caps on it. Everyone remembers it because it's so funny. I can see how "Giant Burrito Place" could be similar to something like this. Good luck if you go with it.

Re: Giant Burrito Place
Living in San Diego and loving Mexican food myself, I'd always welcome another good burrito joint. How would you differentiate yourself from, say, Chipotle, which is definitely "gringos making burritos for gringos"?

Re: Giant Burrito Place
I think there is more room for gringos making burritos for gringos, as Chipotle is one of the only ones I have seen. I believe my name will jump out to people much more than Chipotle as well. When someone is in the mood for a burrito, I think the answer is clear where they will be going. But I am open to other suggestions on ways to make us different.

Re: Giant Burrito Place
Does sound interesting.
Why I have Giant Burrito Place is because thats what me and my friends call the place where we get our giant burritos currently. But I am open to suggestions, so a poll: |

Re: Giant Burrito Place
The name doesn't matter much but don't they have Qdoba or Chipotle out there?
