Why not fire another bullet on the turn?

If his showdown is 18% I would fire another bullet, if he calls, then I have to check river. It's better then check/calling here unless you know him to raise you at the turn.

I bet to see where im at. By firing another one, he may be a nit and fold. Did he show JTs here or something when you called him? If you bet again he may fold, and if you check/call OOP what does this accomplish?

why do you want to turn top pair into a bluff? If he calls what kind of information did you really get?

If he calls, then you are most likely behind. What kind of information do you get when you check turn and he standard bets into you, and you call OOP? Im not saying Im right but I dont see the purpose of check/call here.

His betting range is wider than his calling range and giving a free card to 97/T9 isn't terrible, therefore c/c is better than leading. You should never "bet to see where you're at" if the info you get is unreliable at best.

If you've been very active I vb 3 streets because you get called down light, but in a vacuum c/c turn, c/f river is standard I think.

so you admit that a turn bet is a bluff, but advocate making it anyway.

you get no information, but who cares? i enjoy making +EV plays, not constantly making "probe" bets to get as much information as i can about the villain's holding.

i think the whole hand is good if you folded river by the way. i do think it's close against this villain, because i don't respect his play much (and the presents he brought me last year sucked).

You really think calling $26 here is better then betting $26 yourself?
