Default Video Card question

I have a 32MB Geforce2 from about 7 years ago (lol) in an old computer. I have just bought a Dell 2007fp, but only have an onboard graphics card. Will this 32MB Geforce2 (PCI) allow a Dell 2007fp to work, and will my onboard graphics card continue to work?

Your mobo should detect the Geforce2(Omgosh) and disable your onboard visuals.

You'd have to check bios to confirm this.

2007FP is 20" 1600 x 1200 (UXGA) Optimum Resolution.

I cant find its specifications, check your box or try find your card ong oogle.com to see its output resolutions. It may not support the monitor, not sureif 2007FP is DVI only or not.

It seems Geforce2 PCI will be soon worth over £1 000 000 as its such an antique

It would seem to run a crappy 17inch monitor at 1600x1200 so I presume it will support it? Now all we have to hope is that Dell 2007fp is VGA lol.

Not sure if 2007FP is analog, i assumed it was DVI.

Whats your current setup? Suprised you can run PA+PT+Party/Stars with that GFX and what i assume to be a slow CPU?

Says 1 analogue, believe thats VGA so should be ok.

Ok, just taken the GEForce2 MX out...and it looks like it's AGP. I havent opened my other computer up...but Im not expecting it to have any AGP slots. Lol.

New question - 8MB card with dual input is no good? lol.

even if your monitor is just DVI, you can still use your card because all you need is a DVI - VGA adapter but keep in mind your kinda ripping yourself off not using a digital signal.

Dude what machine have you got? School calculator or something LOL?

PCI-E is in exsistance now, 32MB AGP cards died about 4 years ago!

CPU speed?
RAM?

DVI does rock, but can always use a converter - Be carefull not to leverage your slot out the mobo though lololol.

Sounds like you need a new PC though ^_^

Sorry maybe I didnt explain well. There is onboard graphics (not the geforce2 lol). However, I want to run dual monitors (1 from the onboard, 1 from a PCI graphics card).

I have an old GEForce 2 card from another computer, which I thought was PCI, but it turns out it is AGP).

So, it looks like I need to buy a PCI video card.
