When the TD screws up, is there anything you can do???
Long boring story short...I'm playing a tourney at Caesars... It gets down to 5 handed (paid 9), blinds are like ridiculous at 1k/2k 300 ante (I think, I was drunk)... Avg stack is maybe 20, I have like 40, CL has like 90... After a while, blinds go to 2k/4k... Everyones pissy but what're you gonna do... We play and play, bust one guy... Next blind, Tourney director goes "Okay... blinds going to 1500/3000)... We're all like DOUBLE U TEE EFF... Blind reduction...???
TD hems and haws for a bit... Gets her bearings... Then kinda sheepishly admits to everyone that she skipped an entire blind level... OBV the few guys that're really short go off and start yellin... All to no avail as she just says "oh well... too late now" or something to that effect... Is there anything anyone can do, other than not play at Harrah's donkaments (goddamn W-2) or is it just grin and bear it... |

Yeah this one is easy. You can pay attention and when the TD skips a blind level you can bring it to her attention immediately.

Re: When the TD screws up, is there anything you can do???
Yeah... this is a frequent happening at almost every tourney I've ever played. TD's get a little confused about what the last blind is or what the next blind is to be. No big deal...just correct the TD when they announce an incorrect blind. It's not like the blind levels are a secret, and any one of you players could have corrected it. So 5 players and the dealer miss it and you want to hang the TD in effigy? Honest mistake, no big deal, move on. My take on it would be that you should leave the current blind level for another round. Don't back it up, and don't bump it up.

Are they really allowed to reduce the blinds though?
I dont understand how you can miss a level (Dont they have computer programs to help?), but since she did, shouldnt she just have the rest of the tourny play out the right way? |

[/ QUOTE ] I assumed that she didn't actually reduce the blinds and once the mistake was pointed out she continued either at the last blind level or next blind level. OP didn't really say what happened next. |

Lesson learned. Don't play while drunk so you can spot these problems ahead of time.
