Hacker Protection

Since people have been getting hacked like crazy, what are some ways that I can protect myself?

Some shtuff I already do..

-I never open a file via AIM from someone that I don't trust
-I run Spybot
-I don't have my password or username saved
-Nobody goes on my computer
