Was I committed to call preflop?
Final table of a $75 tourney on Full Tilt. Very soft table where it seemed most people were just looking to move up in money. This was a very key pot and I hate how I played it.

Re: Was I committed to call preflop?
No, you weren't really committed to calling preflop -- you should at least call with coordinated cards, pocket pairs, or Ax, but no shame in folding trash. Even though you're getting 6 to 1 direct pot odds, you'll also be OOP vs. 2 opponents and you can't expect to flop big enough often enough to make calling +EV.
No reason to do anything other than check-fold the flop. |

Re: Was I committed to call preflop?
Fold pre. It's a raised pot ITM and your hand is garbage. C/F flop.

Re: Was I committed to call preflop?
This hand is worthless. You are getting good odds, but you won
't be happy with the flop often enough. C/F this flop btw. |

Re: Was I committed to call preflop?
not worth a cvall here man. what are you hoping for on the flop? whats the most you can get paid off? the answer to the second question is: not enough. so this is a trivially easy fold.
Take the hand out of context for a second and ask yourself if you would play J3o for a raise worth 10% of your stack. i would think the answer is no. you don't have enough reasons to play this hand here. Against one opp whom you know you can push off the flop sure, but multiple opps? i hate it. |

Re: Was I committed to call preflop?
The only flop that can make you win money is X33. (XJJ is to dangerous for your opponent to call your bet and JXX too dangerous for you - bad kiker).
Let's make an approximate calculation. There are less than 1% chance you get this flop so you need to win 100*5000=500000 when you get it to have EV !!!!!!!! So you only play for ... bluffing the flop ! |
