Default Any Chance Poker Will Be Banned/Gone From U.S. TV?

Since I'm feeling a conspiracy/sky is falling mood today, is there any chance the government would take the UIGA a step farther and ban poker and gambling from TV? Like they banned cigarette ads? WSOPC events are gone, sounds like WPT on Travel Channel (or at all) could be gone, Pokerdome/Poker Superstars, etc. Would ESPN scrap televising the WSOP entirely if fields significantly dwindled due to lack of internet qualifiers, lack of advertising from online sites, Harrah's jacking up prices to show it?

They shouldn't need to. As less people play, less people will watch it.

No chance it will be banned.

The issue is will there be enough advertising dollars to sell to make the shows continue. If the online sites aren't going to advertise, how much can these poker shows charge for advertising?

The poker you see on TV is 100% legal, filmed in legal B&M casinos/tournaments.

Poker as a spectator sport will survive without online poker. That's my prognostication.

Also keep in mind that online poker wasn't technically banned in the U.S., they just got rid of the quick easy withdrawls. Online poker will be around, however, the fish will leave when they realize how hard it will be to either deposit or withdraw money to and from your bank account.

Poker will thrive and continue to build. If you didn't know, the US isn't the entire world. Playing on partypoker the last few months it has been almost as juicy as it used to be. Sure there's lesser game selection, but still plenty of fish from other parts of the world. I actually won't play on pokerstars or any other US sites anymore as it seems the US fish won't be around, and the only US players still playing are the winning players which will make pokerstars and the rest even harder sites to win at.

What in the world does the UIGA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Act) have to do with televised poker?
