Hmmmmmm this looks a lot like a set but I always say that about higher stakes hands.
I really dont see why you didnt check behind turn/ call river? As played, I probably dump it you still got 1000 chips. |

I didn't check behind turn because he's extremely unlikely to have a King isn't he?

hmmmm I think pot control on a relatively drawless board would be key here.
in terms of hands with a king, KXhh?? interested to see what others say. |

I fold the river, if he bluffed me with missed hearts fine. I probably check the turn, then call river if he bets or make a smallish value bet if he checks. This is dependent on the river card obviously, but Tc would be a perfect one to maybe get paid off for 250 or so.

Ryan [/ QUOTE ] yes but other than hearts there arent huge draws out or anything here, so i dont disagree with the pot control approach. as played though calling is pretty thin. if the turn checked through itd be much easier to call a river bet. |

He's relatively unlikely to have a king, but only a flush draw calls you if it can't beat a king on the turn. Checking the turn causes him to bluff missed hearts a decent % of the time. I don't think he leads anything that we beat on the river, as after someone raised then bet 2 streets is generally a bad time to bluff.

This is a clear valuebet from him on the river. He seems to be scared that you
a)check behind on the river, because you may have no king etc. This line would assume that he has a monster or at least a decent TP. or b)he`s blocking with a king of heart (maybe he has KQ of hearts) I can`t really see him doing this bet with a busted FD and everything else beats you. I always fold in this spot (exspecially in this buy-in), unless i have a uber-read that villain spews. |

You wanna check the turn mainly because you dont wanna play a huge pot with JJ. Basically you just want to control the pot size. Check the turn and call a bet on the river if its reasonable.
