I want to play the Hansen style
I would like to find some book or some information to play like Gus Hansen. I've met some players in life tournaments who use this approach and I really envy them.
Where can I find some information? |

Re: I want to play the Hansen style
Are you willing to have enormous swings in your bankroll and secondly you must have the gift of exceptional reads.
Currently there are millions of ace-rag players who have adopted this style but lack a foundation and all the necessary tools to excel. |

Re: I want to play the Hansen style
[ QUOTE ]
I would like to find some book or some information to play like Gus Hansen. [/ QUOTE ] The following is from his CardPlayer bio: [ QUOTE ] Hansen is considered a probability expert and understands equity calculations, a talent that comes in handy when playing high-stakes poker. His unusual expertise in this area enables him to redefine "correct" play, weighing the probabilities of the hands of his opponents, who act in certain ways according to common equations. [/ QUOTE ] Hansen is a former backgammon expert. Equity is a very important concept in backgammon, and Hansen uses it to play a lot of hands that most people would go broke with. He is also a much more mathematical and analytical player than his TV image suggests. You aren't going to play "the Hansen style" by reading a book or browsing some forum. You need a solid foundation in math and probability, and you need to really know the game of poker (including the ability to play the players). Players who try to imitate his style without the hard work, study, and experience may win in the short term, but they will eventually go broke. |

Doyle's classic text on NLHE also lays out some of the principles behind agressive play: http://www.doylespokerroom.com/poker...ldem_poker.cfm |

Master backgammon. Seriously. If you can beat that game against good players, poker will seem like fishing in a stocked bathtub.

[/ QUOTE ] Its pretty easy. Just raise most of your hands and call every reraise. Then you get lucky. If your opponent is still ahead on the flop, then you just draw out. |
