Default Bet size when you flop the nut boat? Positional considerations...

Don't have HH, but recalling a situation that occurred the other night.

$50 PLO 6max table on FT.

UTG pots it, UTG+1 calls, I have something like:

9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Everyone ends up calling, 6-handed we see the flop:

J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Checked around to me, with ~$8 in the pot and everyone with ~$50 effective stacks, what's my bet?

I'm assuming I don't want to give a free card here as my hand is still vulnerable, so what's a standard bet given I'm in the CO and it's been checked to me?

Also, I'm curious what you think I should do if I had this situation but I was the SB and first to act postflop, do I check and hope to get in a big check raise?

you bet pot. Someone with the J stays in, and you pot turn.

EP- it depends on many factors. You won't win any money if someone doesn't have a J anyway, so I guess I pot it.

The fact that it is 6 way is more interesting than position I think. I would just pot this and hope someone has 99 or the case jack. You are not going to get much action if one of those two things is not the case, so full steam ahead.

With 2 or 3 way pots I usually half pot oop, pot in position, but I bluff the same amounts. 6 way I am probably never bluffing.

i bet 2... string some small pairs and possibly QT along.

also, if j9 or 99 is out there, they will raise anyway.

in short, 2 gets worse hands to come along, and gets action anyway if another made hand is out.

Bet 4 if you're afraid a big pair spiking a bigger boat... but i like 2.
