Default I know a lot of you don\'t go into ATF but.....

Those of you who like OOT need to go read this thread.

Please make your voice heard to stop the continued destruction of your forum by a group who looks only to serve their own self-interests. It is worth noting that the main proponents of this continued splitting of OOT all either hate or are exiled from OOT. Go make your voice be heard.

Mr. Ebenhoe,

Personally, I'm neutral on the new forum. I want what is best for the forums, and I'm not sure what's best. However, the degree to which you accuse people of making forums for their own "self-interest" is pretty dumb. The people who are advocating new forums are doing it because they think it's best for 2+2 as a whole. Their vision of what's best for 2+2 may be different than yours, but that doesn't mean that their vision is selfish while yours is 100% altruism. This isn't about people power-tripping. This is about people who think they and everyone else who's interested in food, drink, and fitness will generate a greater volume of interesting content than is done in the status quo. Your accusations that this is selfish power tripping is just propaganda-like language meant to incite people against something without forming their own opinion.

I don't think "self-interest" is far off the mark, considering most people who suggest new forums eventually ask/become mods of that forum. The best forums already have a good set of mods so there's not much room to become a mod without expanding the market.

Stop with the crazy talk.

People, get your pitchforks sharpened and torches ready. We march on ATF in one hour!

FWIW, my opinion is that people do not want to check 15 forums every time they log in to 2+2. Having the non-poker forums, like OOT, being broad in nature (like sports and politics) is good for the majority of us.

to further expand on 4_2_it, I think the failed experiment of the automotive forum can be closed now too. It's 4 posts/day could fit into OOT I think. No need to spread everything so thin that it becomes tedious to read the forums.

There is also a poll on the first page of that thread. Please vote in that too.

This is the post I made in the Mod Forum re: this:

"Isn't 2+2 a gambling website? Is there a long-term vision to expand this site/2+2 "brand" beyond gambling? If not, why do we need so many non-gambling sub-forums?"
