Default Buying in

This is definitely an 'easy' question, but one that I haven't really satisfactorily solved for myself. Say I'm heading to <cardroom> and I want to play at 15/30, so I'm going to want a few bills to buy in with. What should I plan to do, in Vegas and at my local(ish) cardroom?

I mean, generally I'd just be bringing cash, preferably in 100s, but is there a solution that's more obvious than this, especially if my buyins got larger? Or am I just being overly attached to my plastic?

Before your trip buy some celery. Throw the celery out and use the rubber band to hold your money.

Again, any solution that involves 'cash' is going to highlight my attachment to plastic more than not knowing how to deal with the cash once I've got my hands on it. I tend to either be in Vegas with less than $1k cash (total) or decide to hit up the cardroom after my bank's closed. Both of which are probably shortsighted, but I just don't tend to plan my trips that far in advance. I guess that should just highlight that I should add 'cash bankroll' to my various other places I keep my money.

I prefer the asparagus rubber band, myself. And I like asparagus better than celery, too.

Cash rules in Vegas. Plastic is bad.

Very few people know this rule, but it's true. Vegas doesn't like plastic.

Well if I bought celery that's what I'd do. Maybe I'd slather some peanut butter or flavored cream cheese on a couple sprigs of celery, but 90% would go bad before I could convince myself to eat it. But asparagus is nummy... a little spritz of oil, a dash of salt, and a couple minutes under the broiler... MMMMmmmmGood. The nice fat blue rubber band is a bonus.

I would just strip the rubber band from the celery at the supermarket.
