Default AJo in the BB

Party Poker 1.00/2.00 Hold'em (9 handed) link

Preflop: Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
1 folds, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, 2 folds, CO raises, 2 folds, Hero calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls.

Flop: (8.50 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
Hero checks, UTG+1 checks, MP1 bets, CO calls, Hero raises, UTG+1 folds, MP1 calls, CO calls.

Turn: (7.25 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero bets, MP1 calls, CO folds.

River: (9.25 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, MP1 calls.

Final Pot: 11.25 BB.

Okay here? Initial PF raiser was a 30/30/1.55 over about 50 hands and had been raising many pots. Was the flop play alright?

As well, I hadn't seen much from MP1, but I figured his range on A6s-AQ considering he'd been fairly tight over a small amount of hands. I though he'd have AT here..

this hand could have turned out interesting, but the way it played out postflop, it turned out boringly standard.

I usually don't post boring hands like this, but he ended up having AQ. Did I make a mistake here? Should I have slowed down?

You might want to note that villian doesn't overplay AQ on an A board.

Seeing as the villain isn't the PFR, there's no reason to think you don't have the best hand. Make a note that he limps AQ. Oh, and that he cowers down with TP2K real easy-like.

Even if it had been the PFR I think this would have been fine.

Just because your opponent underplayed his hand, does not mean that you were mistaken to be agressive in your own play.

As other posters have suggested, make a note (mental or otherwise) that this player might play a decent hand timidly.

You played the hand fine. Slowing down anywhere is wimpy, plain and simple.

Agreed, but I find myself playing a little too agressively at times. Obviously, according to your posts, I played it alright. Thanks for the responses.
