Default Help me choose my next BMW

Right now i have a 2005 330Ci w/ SMG
I love the car to death but i'm moving from boston to las vegas, and a 2 door is less feasible as a day to day driver now.

I'm an avid BMW fan and i'm not interested in any other manufacturer

Right now i'm operating on a very short list

335i Sedan
550i (is it worth saving $$$ on a 530i)
X5

I'm really having trouble deciding between the sporty features of the 3, the luxury of the 5 or the luxury SUV

This depends on what you are looking for. If you get an SUV are you going to get dissapointed about it not being as sporty as your previous car? I think that a 550i would be almost a best of both worlds.

Or you could wait for the new M3 to come out I am pretty sure that they are gonna make a 4 door version. It will be prob. be about 20 grand more than the 550 though.

I would upgrade to the new X5 coming out.

I'm thinking of getting one myself actually.

I drive a 6er, if you can afford it I would go for that as a second choice.

FWIW, although I am an Audi driver and not a fan of SUV's at all, I think the X3 (not X5) is pretty neat.

i think 90% of the selling point to me on the X5 might be that F-15 style shifter.

basically my situation is that i'm living alone in vegas but will have a fair amount of visitors, so looking good and having space are a little more important to me than pure speed

Anyone have an opinion on the 335i sedan as far as back seat comfort

Go with the 550. Fast and fun to drive and it should be in a different class when compared to the 530. It is like night and day in regards to performance.

i have a X5 4.4i sports package and it drives like a car with great power throughout the rpm. the sportspackage suspension is a little stiff for a urban road and i'd choose a softer normal package if i were to choose again. the truck space is very small, smaller than most cars and gas milage is terrible at 13-15 city driving. bmw is more of a drivers car so expect a little sacrifice in comfort for performance and road handling feel. but overall i'd go for the new 335 with the turbo charged engine.
