Default Home Game Scoring System

We keep track of points and then have a Player of the Year. It is a rebuy tournament and we typically have around 8 players but sometimes have as few as 4 or as many as 11.

Here's the scoring from last year:

Rebuy = -1
Players 4 5-6 7-8 9+
1st 5 8 10 12
2nd 4 6 8
3rd 3 5
4th 2

The thing that struck me is that there are a lot more points/player as the # of players go up. Does that seem correct? If not, could someone post what they think would be fair?

Default Re: Home Game Scoring System

We do a league very similar to this. It's a lot of fun. Our games are usually around 15. Smallest game last year was 9 i think, biggest had 27 or so. For points we just give the first guy to bust out 1 point, the second 2 points, the third 3, and so on. If you have a tourney with ten, first gets 10 pts, a tourney with 20, first gets 20. It also helps award those who make it deep. It's harder to get fifth in a tourney with 20 than a tourney with 9. if you cut off points at 4th, making it deep does nothing for you.
