If you have MS Outlook installed, then it just says there is unread mail in there. If you do not have it, I am not sure.

To find out exactly, run regedit (start > run > 'regedit')
warning: you can hose things in here, be careful. It's a good idea to never edit without making a backup (file > export). Go to this key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\UnreadMail Expand and any programs using the "login feature" will be listed. You can selectively disable (right click > permissions, deny all) them. Or you can disable them altogether by setting 'MessageExpiryDays' to 0. MS Knowledge base Article |
