Default Fantasy Football First Pick Overall

Just interested on who everybody would pick this year for their first round draft pick, and if you desire, why?

I guess Manning is an option, for me, depending on the scoring system. He's an option anyways, of course, but I'm an RB first QB's last type guy.

This one is so easy... it's been easy for the last couple of years but morons have been on Culpepper's and Tomlinson's jock.

The correct choice (and has been the last couple years) is Manning.

He slipped to 6th in my draft last year and when I picked him, people still said I took him too early.

I love playing against people who pick RB's first and QB's last. RB's are a dime a dozen. Sure Tomlinson and Holmes are going to get more points than say a guy like Fred Taylor, but the spread just doesn't justify taking those guys in the first round, especially with early picks. The spread of QB's is HUGE so if Manning is there when you pick, you have to take him.

Tomlinson and it isn't even close.

I have Manning at #4.

On edit:
First, Manning at 4 is the highest I've had a QB in years. Fantasy football is too RB heavy to not take an RB in the first round, but this year is an exception -- there are a lot of RBs and the drop-off from the first QB (Manning) to the next is enormous considering that the #2 QB is basically unidentifiable. So, don't take my seeding of Manning at 4th overall to be an insult to him.

No one thinks Moss should be one of the top picks?

Second round, maybe late first in deeper leagues (3 WR leagues and/or 12++ teams). In general, the difference between Moss and the 20th is about 30 catches, 300 yards, and 4 TDs over the course of a season, which means that you are better off grabbing other players.

If you could predict who the #1 WR would be with more certainty, then yes, that guy would be worth a high pick. But given how difficult that is, I typically pass and aim for others in rounds three through six.

For your 2nd RB, I reccommend: Kevin Jones, Julius Jones, and Domanick Davis.

Look at the top ten in rushing every season... there's ALWAYS a lot of turnover.

Questions like these depend heavily on the scoring system used.

True, but it's hard to go wrong w/ Tomlinson.
